NEET UG is unique. Unlike JEE, UPSC, or SSC, NEET asks for TWO different photos. And this single requirement causes maximum panic at the Internet Cafe.
- "Bhaiya, Postcard size kya hota hai?"
- "Is it the same as the one on the Aadhaar card?"
If you upload the Postcard photo in the Passport slot, the server rejects it. If you don't carry the physical Postcard photo to the exam center, the guard will not let you enter.
This guide declutters the confusion.
📸 The "Carbon Copy" Rule
Both your Passport Photo and Postcard Photo must be **identical** (Same clothes, same date, same look). You cannot have a blue background in one and white in the other. Use the same source image for both.

NEET Photo Size Guide: Passport vs Postcard
How to Create Both Photos (Free)
You have one photo on your phone. You need both sizes. Here is how to generate them instantly.
Step 1: Create Passport Photo
- Go to the NEET Photo Tool.
- Upload your photo.
- Choose "Passport Size".
- Download. (Use this for the form upload).
Step 2: Create Postcard Photo
- On the same tool, toggle to "Postcard Size (4x6)".
- The tool resizes it to high-resolution 4x6 dimensions.
- Download.
- Do NOT upload this. Take this file to a shop and print it on 4x6 inch Glossy Paper.
Printing Advice (Don't Ignore)
Since the User Interface (UI) of a cyber cafe printer can be confusing, tell the shopkeeper specifically:
- "Bhaiya, isko 4x6 paper par print karna hai."
- Do not shrink it to fit A4. It must be full 4x6 inches.
If you have a printer at home, use specific photo paper.
FAQ: Quick Answers
Q: Is Name and Date mandatory for NEET 2026? A: Unlike SSC, NTA recommends having Name & Date but strictly doesn't reject forms without it. However, to be safe, adding it takes 5 seconds. Why risk it?
Q: Can I wear specs? A: If you wear power glasses regularly, yes. But ensure there is no flash reflection. If you use sunglasses/goggles, your form expires instantly.
Q: I have only 1 copy of the Postcard photo. Is it enough? A: No. Carry at least 2-3 copies. One is pasted on the proforma, one is given to the invigilator. If you lose one, the backup saves your career.
