Department of State's Strict 600x600px Requirement
US Visa photos are among the strictest in the world. The Department of State requires a digital image that is perfectly square: 600 pixels by 600 pixels.
But it's not just about the outer dimensions. The internal geometry is critical:
- Head height must be between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches (50-69% of image height).
- Eye height must be between 1 1/8 inches and 1 3/8 inches from the bottom.
- Absolutely NO glasses.

Critical Rejection Rules
Rule #1: No Glasses
As of 2016, eyeglasses are not allowed in visa photos. You must remove them.
Rule #2: Neutral Expression
Eyes open, mouth closed. No smiling.
