The "Codec Not Found" Nightmare

When you want to edit that video in iMovie, or play it on a Smart TV, or send it to someone who still uses a legacy version of Safari, WebM starts to break down. MP4 (H.264), on the other hand, is the "Global Survivor." It plays on everything from a $2,000 MacBook to a $20 gas station tablet.

Why I Stopped Trusting "Online" Converters

When I first started converting files, I’d just Google "webm to mp4" and click the first result. I’d upload my video, wait for the progress bar, and hope for the best.

If you're converting for a professional presentation, always check your Bitrate. Our "Balanced" setting is perfect for Slack or WhatsApp, but if you're going to be projecting that video on a 100-inch screen at a conference, toggle that setting to "High."

It takes a few seconds longer to process, but the clarity is worth every extra millisecond.
