When a standard converter takes your millions of video colors and tries to cram them into 256 slots, it panics. It uses "dithering" to fake the missing colors, which results in that grainy, "crusty" look we all hate.

It's the 256-color limit. Standard converters use a generic palette. Our tool analyzes your specific video to create a custom color map, which is the secret to those smooth, grain-free gradients you see on professional sites.
For GIFs, motion is usually more important than pixel count. I’d rather have a 480px GIF at 24 FPS that feels alive than a 1080p GIF at 5 FPS that feels like a slideshow.
It's actually safer than 'cloud' conversion. In the cloud, your file goes to someone else's computer. Here, it stays in your browser's memory. If you disconnect your internet mid-conversion, it would still finish—that's how local it is.
