Every business generates CSV exports: bank statements, inventory snapshots, sales summaries, attendance sheets. And almost every time you need to share that data with someone else — a client, a manager, an auditor — you hit the same problem: not everyone has Excel.

Sending a raw .csv file attachment is the digital equivalent of handing someone a text file with commas in it. They open it in Notepad and see a wall of text. Or they open it in Excel and the columns don't align. PDF eliminates all of that — it looks identical on every device, every printer, every operating system, with zero software required.

Auto-Orientation for Wide Tables

One of the most common mistakes when converting CSV to PDF is ending up with columns cut off at the right margin. Our converter automatically detects how many columns your data has:

• 6 or fewer columns → Portrait A4 (standard)
• 7 or more columns → Landscape A4 (prevents truncation)

You get a properly formatted table without having to configure anything.

What the Output Looks Like

The generated PDF includes:

• Document title at the top (auto-generated from your filename, or set your own)
• Metadata line: generation date, row count, column count
• Styled table: blue header row, alternating white/light-blue data rows, clean borders
• Smart alignment: numeric columns are automatically right-aligned
• Page footer: "Page X of Y | Generated by DocSet.in" on every page

Tips for a Clean Conversion

1. Put headers in the first row. The converter treats row 1 as column headers and styles them as the table header. If your CSV has no headers, the first data row will look like a styled header — add column labels to fix this.

2. Remove blank rows. Blank rows in the middle of your CSV will appear as empty rows in the PDF. Most spreadsheet tools have a "remove empty rows" or "filter" option.

3. Check for merged cells before exporting. If you're exporting from Excel, merged cells don't translate to CSV — they become blank cells in the merged area. Unmerge before exporting.

4. For very wide tables, consider splitting. A 20-column table in landscape A4 gives each column only about 14mm of width. If readability matters, consider making two separate CSV files — one with key columns, one with supplementary data.

Privacy Note

Your CSV file is read entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to any server. This matters when your CSV contains sensitive information like employee salaries, client pricing, or financial records — which is most of the time.
