About This Tool

Create GST-Compliant Tax Invoices in Under 2 Minutes

Under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, every registered supplier must issue a Tax Invoice for every taxable supply. A proper GST invoice is not just good practice — it is a legal requirement that enables your buyer to claim Input Tax Credit (ITC).

Our Free GST Invoice Generator handles all the mandatory fields automatically:

  • GSTIN for both supplier and buyer
  • HSN/SAC code per line item
  • Automatic CGST+SGST (intra-state) or IGST (inter-state) calculation based on GSTINs
  • Amount in words in Indian format (Lakhs, Crores)
  • Place of Supply and Reverse Charge fields
  • Download as A4 PDF — print-ready and legally formatted

CGST+SGST vs IGST — Auto-Detected

This is where most generic invoice tools fail. In GST, the tax split depends on the location of supplier and buyer:

TransactionTax TypeSplit
Both in same state (e.g., Delhi → Delhi)CGST + SGST50% each
Different states (e.g., Rajasthan → Maharashtra)IGSTFull rate
Exports / SEZZero-rated0%

Our tool reads the first two digits (state code) of both GSTINs and automatically applies the correct tax type.

Frequently Asked Questions

When the supplier and buyer are in the same state, GST is split equally into CGST (Central) and SGST (State). For inter-state transactions (supplier in one state, buyer in another), the full GST is charged as IGST. Our tool detects this automatically from the first two digits of the GSTINs you enter.

For B2B transactions (business selling to business), both GSTINs are required to claim Input Tax Credit. For B2C transactions (selling to consumers), check the 'Unregistered buyer' option — you only need your own GSTIN.

HSN (Harmonised System of Nomenclature) is a code for goods; SAC (Services Accounting Code) is for services. If your annual turnover exceeds ₹5 Crore, HSN/SAC codes are mandatory. Below that threshold, they are best practice and help ensure your buyer can file accurate GST returns.

The invoice contains all fields required by Rule 46 of the CGST Rules (GSTIN, HSN/SAC, tax amounts, etc.). It is suitable for most B2B and B2C transactions. For e-invoicing (IRN/QR code, mandatory above ₹5 Crore turnover), you need to use the government's IRP portal — this tool generates the draft which you can then register.

Completely. The invoice is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your GSTIN, client names, HSN codes, and pricing data are never transmitted to our servers.

Yes! Toggle the PDF language to हिन्दी before downloading. All invoice labels, section headings, and the Amount in Words will appear in Hindi — useful for suppliers dealing with Hindi-speaking clients or government departments.
